Fully Boarded Scaffold with Roof Walkway for Abseilers in Pimlico, Central London

We were instructed to provide a specialist access solution in Pimlico, Central London, supplying a fully boarded front elevation scaffold with a dedicated roof-level walkway to support abseiling works on a central London property. Due to the nature of the works and the busy urban environment, this project required careful planning, strict safety controls, and full compliance with all relevant scaffolding regulations.
The scaffold was designed to provide safe and secure access for rope access contractors while maintaining protection for the public and building occupants below. Our experienced team erected a TG21 compliant independent scaffold to the full front elevation, incorporating a fully boarded working platform and a robust walkway system at roof level to allow abseilers to operate safely and efficiently.
Given the high-footfall location in Pimlico, additional safety measures were implemented as part of the installation. The scaffold was fully netted to prevent falling debris and reduce risk to pedestrians, and an alarm system was installed to enhance site security and deter unauthorised access outside of working hours.
All works were carried out in accordance with SG4:22 guidance for preventing falls from height, with edge protection, secure access points, and clear segregation between work areas and public spaces. Our operatives conducted regular inspections throughout the duration of the project to ensure the scaffold remained safe, stable, and fully compliant at all times.
