Scaffold Tower with Rope & Wheel for Roof Leak – Tottenham, North London

This project involved the erection of a TG21 compliant scaffold tower to the front right-hand half of a residential property in Tottenham, North London, delivered on behalf of Haringey Council as part of an ongoing local authority repair and maintenance programme.
The scaffold was required to provide safe access for roofing contractors to investigate and repair an active roof leak. Due to the location and scope of the works, a compact but robust access solution was essential to minimise disruption while maintaining full compliance with current scaffolding regulations and council safety expectations.
Our team designed and installed a standalone access tower fitted with a rope and wheel system, allowing materials and tools to be lifted safely to roof level without manual handling risks. This setup improved efficiency on site while reducing the need for repeated access at ground level.
All works were carried out by our fully trained and qualified scaffolders, operating in accordance with SG4:22 guidance for safe working at height. The tower included secure working platforms, double guardrails, toe boards, and controlled access points to ensure maximum safety for operatives and occupants alike.
Particular care was taken to maintain clear pedestrian access at the front of the property throughout the works. The scaffold footprint was kept compact, and the site was left clean and tidy at the end of each working day, in line with local authority standards and resident expectations.
As with all council-instructed projects, the scaffold was subject to formal handover checks and is covered by regular inspection procedures for the duration of the works, ensuring continued compliance and safe use by roofing contractors.
