B-MAT Scaffolding was instructed to provide a specialist chimney access scaffold at a residential property
on Heysham Road, Tottenham, North London. The scaffold was required to allow bricklayers safe
access to a rear chimney stack and a lower-level rear window where brickwork had deteriorated.
Due to the layout of the property and restricted access at the rear, an L-shaped scaffold
configuration was designed and erected. This provided targeted access to both the chimney stack and the
adjacent elevation, allowing repairs to be carried out efficiently without unnecessary scaffold coverage.
The scaffold provided fully boarded working platforms at the required heights, enabling bricklayers to
repoint the chimney stack and repair failing bricks around the rear window safely and effectively. The
layout allowed operatives to work with confidence at height while maintaining a compact footprint.
Installed as an independent scaffold, the structure included double guardrails, toe boards, and secure
ladder access to provide effective fall prevention and safe movement between working levels. Particular
attention was given to stability and positioning due to the rear access constraints.
All scaffolding was erected by trained and qualified operatives in accordance with
TG21 guidance and SG4 safe working at height principles. The scaffold was
inspected on completion and maintained in a safe and compliant condition for the duration of the
brickwork repairs.
Installation and dismantling were carried out in line with the agreed programme, ensuring minimal
disruption to the property and neighbouring areas. Once the chimney repointing and brickwork repairs
were completed, the scaffold was removed promptly and safely.
This Heysham Road project demonstrates B-MAT Scaffolding’s experience in delivering
bespoke access solutions for chimney and brickwork repairs across Tottenham and North
London. By tailoring scaffold designs to suit site-specific challenges, we continue to provide safe,
reliable access for specialist repair works.
Short / Long Term Scaffolding Hire
When it comes to construction, renovation or property maintenance, having the right scaffolding solution in place is essential for safety, efficiency and compliance. Whether you are a homeowner needing temporary access to your roof for a few weeks, a building contractor overseeing a large commercial development, or a property manager planning long-term works, reliable scaffolding hire makes all the difference.
Scaffold Platforms
Scaffold platforms are an essential part of safe and efficient construction, repair, and maintenance projects across London and Essex. Whether you are working on a residential property in need of external access, a commercial building requiring large-scale scaffolding, or specialist works where stability and safety are critical, having the right scaffold platform in place ensures both productivity and compliance with health and safety standards.
Scaffolding / Access towers
When working at height, safety and stability are vital. That’s why so many homeowners, builders, and contractors rely on scaffolding and access towers for their projects across London and Essex. Whether you’re repairing a roof, painting the exterior of a property, or carrying out commercial maintenance, access towers provide a secure platform that allows work to be completed safely, quickly, and efficiently.
Chimney Scaffolds
Working on a chimney is one of the most challenging aspects of building maintenance. Positioned high above roof level, chimneys require safe and secure access for repairs, repointing, and removals. That’s where chimney scaffolds come in. Designed specifically to provide stable working platforms around chimneys, these scaffolding structures make it possible to complete delicate work at height without compromising safety.
Replacing Fascias / Gutters
Fascias, soffits and gutters are vital parts of any building. They protect your property from water damage, keep your roofline secure, and ensure rainwater is directed away from walls and foundations. Over time, however, fascias and gutters can become damaged, weathered or blocked — leading to leaks, rot, damp and expensive repairs. Replacing fascias and gutters often requires safe access to awkward roof edges and upper storeys. That’s why professional scaffolding hire is essential. Our company provides specialist scaffolding hire for replacing fascias and gutters in London, Essex and Hertfordshire, with flexible short and long term hire options for homeowners, builders and roofing contractors.
