B-MAT Scaffolding was appointed to deliver a highly technical scaffolding solution for a full roof replacement project in the heart of Belgravia, Central London. This prestigious residential property required a carefully designed scaffold system that prioritised safety, weather protection, and minimal disruption to residents and neighbouring properties.
Given the central London location and the complexity of the works, our experienced design and installation team developed a fully TG21 compliant scaffold incorporating a watertight temporary roof system. This allowed roof replacement and full external redecoration works to proceed safely, efficiently, and without exposure to adverse weather conditions.
The temporary roof structure provided complete protection to both the building and the interior spaces below, ensuring that works could continue uninterrupted regardless of weather. This was especially important on a project of this scale and sensitivity, where programme certainty and protection of high-value finishes were essential.
Due to restricted access at the rear of the property, all scaffold materials were carefully raised up and over the roof. This specialist approach significantly reduced disruption to residents and avoided the need for intrusive access routes through living areas or neighbouring land. Every stage of the installation was planned in advance to ensure safe manual handling, controlled lifting operations, and full compliance with current working-at-height legislation.
The scaffold design provided multiple safe working platforms, clear access routes, and secure loading areas to support roofing and redecoration teams throughout the project. Edge protection, double guardrails, toe boards, and debris control measures were installed throughout to protect operatives, residents, and members of the public.
Safety remained at the forefront of this project from initial design through to final dismantling. All works were carried out by our fully trained and competent operatives, with ongoing inspections completed in accordance with statutory requirements. The scaffold remained stable, secure, and fully compliant for the duration of the works.
