B-MAT Scaffolding was instructed to provide a full access scaffolding solution at a three-storey residential block on Stonebridge Road, Tottenham, North London, to enable a complete roof replacement project to be carried out safely and efficiently.
The scope of works required extensive access to the building, including the full side elevation of the block, with scaffold returns to both the front and rear elevations. In addition, access to the roof verge areas was essential to allow roofing contractors to complete the installation to the required standard.
A fully independent scaffold was erected to the full height of the building, providing continuous, fully boarded working platforms across all required elevations. This allowed roofers to carry out strip and replacement works safely at height while maintaining efficient movement of materials and operatives around the structure.
The scaffold design incorporated appropriate edge protection, double guardrails, toe boards, and secure ladder access throughout. Particular attention was given to stability and load considerations due to the height and extent of the scaffold and the nature of the roofing works being undertaken.
All scaffolding was installed by trained and qualified operatives in accordance with TG21 guidance and SG4 safe working at height principles. The scaffold was inspected on completion and subject to regular statutory inspections to ensure it remained safe, stable, and compliant for the duration of the roof replacement works.
Installation was carefully coordinated with the roofing contractor’s programme to ensure access was available when required and that the project could progress without unnecessary delays. Upon completion of the roofing works, the scaffold was dismantled promptly and safely in line with the agreed schedule.
