Scaffold Access Tower for Roof Inspection in Eltham, South London
Location: Eltham Road Lewisham South London SE12 1BT
B-MAT Scaffolding was instructed to provide a scaffold access tower at a residential property in Eltham, South London, to allow safe access for a roof inspection. The scaffold was required to support inspection works following concerns over the condition of the roof and to enable a full survey to be carried out safely at height.
A scaffold access tower was selected as the most appropriate solution, offering a compact footprint while providing a stable, fully boarded working platform at roof level. This allowed contractors to inspect roof coverings, flashings, and rainwater goods without reliance on ladders or temporary access methods.
The access tower was positioned to minimise disruption to the property and surrounding area, while maintaining clear access routes at ground level. Its design allowed the inspection to be completed efficiently, helping the client identify any defects and plan any necessary remedial works.
All scaffolding was erected by trained and qualified operatives in accordance with TG21 guidance and SG4 safe working at height principles. Guardrails, toe boards, and secure ladder access were installed as standard to provide effective fall prevention and a safe working environment.
The scaffold was inspected on completion and maintained in a safe and compliant condition for the duration of the inspection works. Once the roof survey was completed, the access tower was dismantled promptly and safely in line with the agreed programme.
This Eltham project demonstrates B-MAT Scaffolding’s ability to deliver practical, safety-led access solutions for roof inspections and maintenance works across South London. Whether supporting surveys, repairs, or planned maintenance, we provide reliable scaffolding services tailored to each project’s requirements.
