Not every scaffold is there to build something. Some are the thing itself — a banner frame across a hoarding, a stage for an event, a viewing platform, a structure that holds an exhibit. It is built with the same tube, boards and fittings, but the brief is different, because people will be looking at it.

How we approach display and event scaffolding
Banner and signage frames
A banner needs a frame that will not flex, sag or take off in a gust. We build the supporting scaffold to suit the banner size and fixing centres, with enough bracing and tying to handle the wind load a large sheet catches. Where the banner covers a live frontage, we work out the frame around doors, windows and shop signage first.
Stages, platforms and event builds
Decked platforms for stages, camera positions, viewing areas and temporary seating are all scaffold jobs. The difference is the loading: a crowd on a deck behaves nothing like a bricklayer and a pallet of blocks. We size the structure for the actual use, board it out properly, and fit stairs, handrails and edge protection where the public can reach.
Non-standard means designed
Display work rarely fits TG20 compliance, because the shapes are not standard and the loads are not standard either. That means a designed scaffold: drawings, calculations, a specification the erecting gang works to and something you can hand to a venue or a licensing officer. We arrange that as part of the job rather than leaving it with you.

Questions about display and event scaffolding
Yes, and on display work that is part of the brief. Straight lines, consistent bay widths, tidy fitting positions, clean boards, netting or shrink-wrap where it helps. If the structure is in a public space we will talk through the finish at the site visit, because a display scaffold is judged on how it looks.
As early as you can. Display and event scaffolds usually need a design before anything is cut, and if the structure sits on a pavement or in a public space there may be a licence to sort out too. Bring us in at the planning stage with drawings or a sketch and we can work backwards from your dates.
