Scaffolding in Tottenham, N15 and N17
B-MAT Scaffolding has been going since 2014, and Tottenham is one of the places we work most. Most of that work sits on N15 and N17 streets: terraced houses off the High Road, flats above shops, and blocks run by the council and housing associations. A lot of that is social housing roofing work, including jobs for Haringey Council. Roofing, gutters, chimneys, brickwork, windows.
N15, N17 / North London
We are based at Nazeing in Essex, so Tottenham is a straight run down the Lea Valley for us. Every scaffolder on site is CISRS-qualified and every scaffold is built to TG20:21 or designed where it needs to be. It gets inspected before first use, then at intervals of no more than seven days, and again after anything that could affect stability.
The housing between Bruce Grove and Seven Sisters
Tottenham runs from Seven Sisters up to Northumberland Park, with Bruce Castle and its park in the middle, and most of what sits between is Victorian and Edwardian terrace, much of it now split into flats. Streets like Lansdowne Road, Heysham Road and Clonmell Road are typical: two and three storeys, back additions, valley gutters between the rear wings and tall stacks well above the ridge. Off the High Road there is plenty of council and housing-association stock. A terrace usually wants a front and rear independent stepped over the back addition. A block wants a run that keeps entrances, bin stores and parking usable throughout.
Haringey licences and Tottenham parking
Haringey is both the planning authority and the highway authority here, so anything standing on the footway or in the road needs a licence from them before it goes up. We make that application and we carry the insurance it asks for. Parking is the other headache. Bays are tight on streets like Stonebridge Road and Carrick Gardens, and event days at the stadium on the High Road bring closures and restrictions, so we sort suspensions and time deliveries around them.

MoreFAQs
Scaffolding in Tottenham — your questions
Yes. If any part of the scaffold sits on the public footway or the road, Haringey has to issue a licence before it goes up. We make the application, supply the insurance details they ask for, and fit the lighting and guarding the licence requires. On a private forecourt or driveway you usually need nothing. We will tell you which one you are on at the site visit.
There is no honest flat rate — the price depends on how many elevations you need, the height, how long the scaffold stays up, and how easy the site is to get to. We come out, look at the job for free, and send a written quotation with the hire period and everything included spelled out. You will not get a number guessed over the phone.
Call us on 020 8050 1296 and we will tell you what we have free that week. We book the free site visit first, then confirm an erection date with the written quote so you can plan your trades around it. Emergency and reactive work is something we do regularly — if a roof has failed or a building needs making safe, say so when you call.
Yes. If any part of the scaffold sits on the public highway or footpath, the highway authority has to licence it before it goes up. We handle the application, the drawings and the conditions that come with it — including lighting, hoarding and pedestrian protection where the council asks for them.
